Even though we haven’t been taken out of this world as yet, the Christian’s place in Christ means we are no longer associated with the world as part of it. God has chosen us “out of the world” (John 15:19) and has given us a heavenly calling and citizenship. This world and earth are not our home. At this time, Christians should consider themselves pilgrims and sojourners passing through a wilderness which offers nothing to sustain them, while constantly looking in expectation for Christ to come for them to take them home (the rapture).
